Few events achieve the level of beauty and elegance as the annual City View dinner party hosted by a local institutional investment group. This event, according to the group’s associate, “is so anticipated by our clients that they plan their calendars around it.” Held every January, McCalls has had the pleasure of producing this keystone event for over 20 years. Along with the reception and dinner menus and service, McCalls handled the entire design, including lighting, floral and décor, to achieve a uniquely tailored experience for our long-standing clients.
Servers greeted guests at the entrance with champagne and a vibrant signature cocktail of vodka, fresh squeezed lemon and lime juice, aperol, mint, and an orange twist. Gold, white, and coral accented a wealth of dark wood furnishings infused with organic designs, adding warmth and a touch of romance to the very modern space.
McCalls sommeliers guided the guests through tastings of international white and red wines as well as sake pairings with sushi and sashimi, freshly prepared by sushi chefs in the room. Before dinner, guests gathered on the veranda for hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and unparalleled views of the San Francisco evening skyline.
Stepping into the dining room was like walking along the ocean floor as cool tones of aqua and teal enticed attendees into an immersive four-course sit down dinner. Once seated, all 500 guests enjoyed a phenomenal menu featuring a Celeriac and Apple Amuse Bouche; Poached Main Lobster with Lemongrass-Basil; a Mosaic of Garden Vegetables and Hydro Watercress; and a Smokey Filet of Beef with Pancetta Piperade, Potato and Brussel Sprout Croquette topped with a Rosemary Jus. After a light dessert of Chocolate and Green-Tea Mousse, the party flowed onto the dance floor where live music and merry-making carried on until after midnight.
